Cummins ISX 15 605 HP, I have a question about the low engine oil pressure alarm. When stopping at a red light the oil pressure naturally drops below the setting of a desirable alarm point for when I am running under load. If I set the alarm point to 15 (for example) I lose the protection needed when under load.
The commercial engine industry solved this issue by having two alarm points. For example, at idle would be 9 psi and under load would be 30 psi. Engine rpm settings would be used to switch between the set points. Would this upgrade be possible?
Until then, is there a way to delay the low pressure alarm for a few seconds? Currently, when I drop to an idle the pressure will drop below 15 psi just for a moment then settle ar 20 psi. With no delay on the alarm I have to choose between setting the alarm point below 15 or put up with getting nuisance alarms.
Thanks, BTW, love your product!
