Things were working fine for a while, but getting frequent BT disconnects. So I tried messing with settings, no improvement. But now I can't get the app to connect so i've done a reset on the app and attempted a factory reset on the adapter. But the adapter will not reset according to the steps.
I've tried the adapter reset with a USB cord as well as with the coach connection, same symptoms. 1) Plug in the adapter and observe blinking blue. Wait for it to start blinking Red. 2) Unplug and replug the adapter. Expecting it to start blinking red immediately (as stated in the doc), but it starts blinking blue again. Thus I never get thru the Factory Reset steps.
If I plug the adapter into the coach it blinks blue for a short bit then blinks red. When I attempt to connect the app reports: Connecting... Authenticating... Retrieving... then fails to connect. All this time the adapter is blinking red.
Suggestions?

An update: I received a dreaded "Check Engine" light this morning and upon investigation I found that the BlueFire adapter was causing the problem. I removed the BF adapter and Check-Engine went away.
Something is definitely wrong with my adapter. How do I proceed? Mail it somewhere for repair/replacment?

Thanks Mark, I'm in Italy for a while, will definitely explore those suggested adjustments in a few weeks and post my results.

Mark, I tried the things suggested in the J1708 Data Retrieval section, but didn't seem to have much luck. I then disconnected the adapter from the 6-9pin conversion pigtail, reconnected and it then blinks blue for a bit, then back to blinking red. What's wierd is that this adapter worked fine for a few weeks which makes me think this is a setting issue or failed unit, not necessarily a hopeless case for my coach. Appreciate your thoughts on steps forward. I'm happy to mail it back , but I just don't feel like giving up on this project.
Are there any users who have gotten this to work on a ~2000 Prevost coach that has a 6 pin port and using a 6-9pin conversion pigtail with a 9 pin adapter?

If your adapter continuously blinks red then there is a problem with the Bluetooth chip. Best send it in for repair. And in the meantime check the IRV2 forums for others with a similar coach configuration - https://www.irv2.com/for...ement-option-425748.html

Mark, I was able to 'save' my adapter by reburning the firmware. Thanks much for the help. Now I just gotta find that really cool dashboard I had last month. Damn.
