I've got a '07 GMC C7500, 6H, Allison 3000, with an ABS & Brake lamp on, along with chimes. Truck has OBDII & 9 pin diagnostic connectors.

Used Torque app on OBDII port, no codes present.

Used green nine pin bluefire on truck. Eventually connects, but top of screen keeps alternating between "key is on" & "key is off". Shows no fault codes, does show engine temp, and eventually, oil pressure. Won't ID software or engine make, etc...

Is this a software issue? Incompatible truck?

Plugged into a 2012 Peterbilt 389, ISX 600, with no fault lamps on, just to see what it's capable of. Shows software and ID's and such, but doesn't acknowledge DEF details, or DPF soot load, etc. Could this be a software problem?

BTW, it was nice touch to find the 10% off code, after ordering.

Brian,

Sorry for the late response. Serious issues with our hosting provider forced me to move to another provider.

The Key On/Off is probably due to the C7500 ECMs. Key On occurs when the adapter detects a CAN bus J1939 PGN and Key Off occurs when there are no PGNs on the bus. I'm guessing the ECMs are not quite adhering to the J1939 standard. The '07 may have some J1708 ECMs. You could try turning off J1939 in System Settings and see if that makes any difference.

Even if a truck has DEF and DPF, the ECM may not broadcast the information on the J1939 CAN bus. This is what is occurring with your Pete.

I refunded the 10% discount to your credit card.

Mark.
