After installing latest version the connection is randomly lost. Tablet is a Samsung Tab A running Android 10. Nothing changed w/motorhome or transmitter, but went to a new tablet and app version at the same time, so problem could be either. Also, I may have too many graphic gauges on my new screen so have a considerable lag in response to rpm changes (and others as well). I may go back to numbers to see if that takes care of the dropped connections and lag. Have you have any similar reports?

I am having the same issue (connection dropping) with my Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 running Android 7.0 and BlueFire 4.0.6.

I had the same issues awhile back on an iPad. It ended up being the “Adapter Minimum interval “. The default is 333 somehow an update set it to 0. After changing it I had no drop out.

I just bought this a few weeks bac but on my first trip couldn't connect and I'm still having the same issue since I received it. It's paired with my Samsung Note 9 Smartphone but keeps disconnecting and reconnecting. I've paired it again but to no avail. It's plugged into my J19139 (Green) connector and flashes blue but doesn't connect. Since I'm unable to connect I doubt there's an event log so I'm not sure what to do next. I've followed the setup procedure. Not sure if there's a setting that is messed up. I'm going to see if I load this onto my tablet next.

There is an event log that may show what is going on with the connection. Send it (Settings/Send the Event Log) and I'll take a look. Just let me know when you have sent it.

It ended up being the “Adapter Minimum interval“ on my setup as well. Changed it to 333 and now working perfectly.

Hi Mark, thanks for the quick reply but as I mentioned I don't think anything got loaded as an event because it never connected. Being a Newbie I got a lot to learn but I've looked under logging it has a file name 20200823-22331 interval 0 secs. I have email checked off when logging has stopped I've looked through the "getting started" doc. but didn't see anything on email it or even checking to see if one is there. Also it's already set to 333 thanks I had checked that out.

You're looking at the data log. There is an event log that records a lot of other helpful information. Send it to me (Settings/Send the Event Log).

No, you can't view the event log. Your problem is that you have the Android/Windows adapter which uses Bluetooth Classic and your settings are set for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Uncheck Setting 'Use Bluetooth Low Energy' and check 'Use Bluetooth Classic' and you'll be good to go.

Hi Mark,
Thanks I've updated the settings but won't be able to try it out for a few weeks since the MH went into the dealers for warranty work this AM and it won't be back for a few weeks perhaps. I'll let you know how I make out when it returns.
Thanks Again

I am experiencing random communication dropouts. I have reset everything several times with no improvement. The interval is set to 333. I sent the event log earlier tonight. Thanks for your help.

Your event log does show constant lost Bluetooth connections. Check out the 'Data Retrieval' section in the Getting Started document. You could also have a poor Bluetooth connection between the adapter and your iPad. Try moving it around to get a clear signal path or turning off other wireless hardware and software features. The IRV2 forums may also provide some help - https://www.irv2.com/for...ement-option-425748.html

I'm having trouble maintaining connection. All seems fine until it starts receiving data. At that time, the App freezes, I can't do anything with it. The only thing I can do is shut down the app. I've tried repeatedly and every time it takes between 20 Seconds to 2 minutes. First it looses connection, tires a couple times, unsuccessfully to reconnect and then locks up. I've had this happen on previous tablets, but though it was because they were not "good enough". I'm pretty sure that is not the case with this tablet. It took several tries, but I think I was able to send the log - somewhere? I've had this adapter for almost 2 years and it NEVER has worked. I did update the adapter before trying this time. I tend to get so frustrated that I just ignore it for months, but now I'm determined to get it working. I'm assuming you'll know who sent the log by my email address.

Have you gone through the suggestions in the Getting Started document's Troubleshooting, Receiving Data, and J1708 sections? I see that you don't have Ignore Motorhome Info checked and your Adapter Minimum Interval is 0.

I had thought so, but I'll go back and review. I pretty much left all the settings to default, with the exception of selecting Bluetooth Classic per your instruction. I did not think I had J1939 data, hence the J1708 setting. I have a 2005 Monaco Executive with a Detroit Diesel Series 60 and 6-pin connector.

Hang tight. The next version (5.0.0) has improvements in the Bluetooth data retrieval which may solve your connection issue. It's scheduled to be out later next week. But definitely try Ignore Motorhome Info and setting your Adapter Minimum Interval to 333 or 500.
