Would a chromebook work as a monitor/dashboard using the android app?

Good question. I don't know much about Chromebooks but if they can run Android Apps and have Bluetooth, then possibly. Have you tried the App on it?

Haven't bought one Yet. I was looking at them and they seem perfect. The right size and many of them are powered thru a USB port, so readily from a 12v source.

John, You don't need to purchase the adapter to try the software. Just download the app from the Google PlayStore and see if it will run. The app even has a demo mode which works without an adapter. Report back your results.
